Glenfield Methodist Drama Group are ‘Fish Out Of Water’

Hello and welcome from Glenfield Methodist Drama Group (GMDG). For those who don't know of us, we are an amateur group that produces shows in the Methodist Church Hall on Station Road. GMDG usually produce two shows a year (one being a pantomime) and being very much a community group, we also produce special events to raise money for local causes. You can find us on Facebook for more information regarding the shows and events. Remember to 'like' us if you wish because the more people that know about us and support us, the bigger and better our productions can be! We are currently in the process of uploading photos from post shows on Facebook, if you have been a past member or know someone who has, feel free to browse and tag those you recognise. GMDG has a broad range of members from around 6 years of age up to ...well the not so young! We always welcome new members to the group, whether it is experienced amateur actors, people who want give it a go for the first time or those who fancy lending a hand backstage. We are currently in the process of building the set for our current production, but donations of paint, wood and even tools would be much appreciated. We rehearse every Wednesday so why not pop down for a chat!
GMDG is well into its rehearsals for our current production called 'Fish Out of Water'; a comedy farce by Derek Benfield. Set in an Italian hotel in the late seventies, the story centres around the interactions between 2 sets of holiday makers, a retired Brigadier and his wife and two sisters on holiday abroad for the first time. They clash with hilarious results as everything is not as it seems. Add to this charade the hotel staff; a flirtatious maid, a hapless holiday rep and an overly passionate hotel manager and you've got the recipe for a night of non-stop laughter! So if you fancy doing something a bit different of an evening (between 15-17 August) and you could do with a laugh, why not come down and see the show for yourself! Call 0116 233 4234 for tickets.
