Celebrating World Book Day

World Book day was celebrated in style at The Hall. The children came to school dressed as a character from a favourite story book. It was amazing to see their creative ideas ranging from Harry Potters, Witches, Princesses, Robin Hood, Roald Dahl characters and many more. The whole staff got involved and each year group dressed as characters from chosen stories ranging from the Year Six team as The Famous Five to The Wizard of Oz in Year 1. Year 4 took characters from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. There was a special school assembly where books were celebrated. At the end of the week Mr Walker's Year Two class led a special assembly for friends and families. The children presented their favourite books with enthusiasm and enjoyment. They sang, danced and spoke about literature to the delight of their parents. One Grandfather commented at the end, "I love a good book myself. It's great to see our young children so excited about reading
