Gymnastics success at The Hall

Teams from Years 2, 4 and 6 were once again entered into the county gymnastics competition. During the Autumn Term, Mrs Handford ran a gymnastics after school club to train and develop the children's skills. All three teams came first at the district level and were then entered into the county finals. The Hall was very proud of the achievement of all concerned to get to such a prestigious event. The finals took place in Oakham and parents were invited to go along to cheer on the teams. The children performed with great enthusiasm and poise. All teams performed floor routines, body management routines and two vaults. They were judged by coaches from professional gymnastic clubs. The Year Six team were presented with the 'Spirit of the Games' trophy at the end of the event for their determination, team work, spirit and cheerfulness. It was a great end to the day and as one parent said, "The standard at this level is so high. It's incredible to watch. The children at The Hall performed so well – we couldn't be prouder!"
