Our 'best ever' Jerusalem!

We began by singing Jerusalem accompanied by Winchester Cathedral organ. "Best ever rendition", said Pam. Might the fact that her beautiful baby granddaughter had recently arrived have spurred us on to greater things? Congratulations all round. She went on to remind us about the forthcoming 40th birthday party meal at the Stamford Arms 25th April and craft groups on 10th 14th 20th March. We'll meet for lunch 12.30 at the Nag's Head on 15th and on 31st Margaret Buckmaster has invited us to a coffee morning at her home (24 Loxley Road) from 10.30 am. We all enjoyed curling last month it was great fun. A group is off to hear Lucy Worsley speak on 11th so as you can tell we run a pretty full calendar - varied too, as some of us are off to see The Full Monty at DMH. This month we welcomed Brenda Featherstone a local farmer, her daughter Alice and "chauffeur" husband David. A great cookery demonstration with anecdotes of life on the farm. I particularly liked the Shredded Wheat cake which looked and cut so well. We had savouries and sweets to try ourselves - almond meat balls, shepherds' pudding, wonderful ways with vegetables. Almost an evening meal - some of us were sorry we'd eaten beforehand! And I bagged the remains of the SW cake putting cash in the pot for funds. We are always looking to feed our money box so, all ideas welcome. Our next meeting Thursday 6th April in Memorial Hall. I can't seem to find the details, but just to point out you don't have to be the most efficient woman to join WI!
