General Election at The Hall

All the children at The Hall took part in their own general election on June 8th mirroring the national election. A special assembly was held earlier in the week explaining the education manifestos of the Conservative Party, The Green Party, The Liberal Democrat Party and the Labour Party. The children had time to discuss the issues before the polling day itself. Each child posted their ballot paper in the box. The School Council took on the job of counting the votes on Friday. The Hall is used as a polling station and the Polling Officer commented to staff; "I am most impressed to see the children taking this so seriously. This is a brilliant way of ensuring that the children understand the political issues and see the reason to use their vote." The results at The Hall were:
Labour Party: 252
Conservative Party: 114
Liberal Democrat Party: 49
Green Party: 28
A win for the Labour Party!
