Barnsdale Gardens and more

It has been a very busy but enjoyable month for Glenfield WI.

Twenty members spent a lovely day at Barnsdale Gardens. There was still plenty to see as we took a leisurely walk around the gardens despite the time of year and an opportunity to eat a light lunch and buy plants and gifts before we boarded the coach for home.

The following week we visited Boundary Mill in Grantham and there was loads of opportunity to buy clothes, shoes and early Christmas presents. We had a great day and promised ourselves a revisit in the Spring.

It was time for more serious business at our AGM on the 17th when Pat Dickinson read the minutes of the last AGM which was followed by the proposed budget for 2018. The Financial Statement was presented by our Treasurer, Sheila Solly and then Pat Dickinson read the Secretary's Report for the past year.  All items on our agenda were proposed, seconded or accepted unanimously by those present at the meeting. Lucy Hilton went on to thank her committee for their hard work and support over the last year and Lucy agreed to serve another term and welcomed her new committee, which included three new members.

With business concluded, we enjoyed tea, coffee, biscuits and a 'handbag and scarf sale' to round the evening off in typical WI style.

The Glenfield WI meets on the third Tuesday of the month in St. Peter's Church Hall @ 7.30 and visitors are assured of a very warm welcome for a nominal fee of £3.00. Please check out our Website (just search 'Glenfield WI' on your computer) to find out more about us and what we do.
