Glenwatch on social media

In December the Police and Glenwatch held an information session at the Glenfield Library whereby the public could discuss crime prevention and safety, we had a display of the latest security products such as real and dummy cctv cameras, panic alarms, antitheft devices for cars, light and tv timers etc. The session proved very popular. Anyone wanting any advice or to see these items, just contact Glenwatch.

When Glenwatch set up its facebook page about 18 months ago we had 7 members and it was just used to report crimes in the area. Since then, the group has expanded to currently 375 members and posts are put up on the page almost on a daily basis. Apart from crime related items the pages have also recently been used for such things as:
How clearing your car of snow might be breaking the law
Lost and found dogs and cats
Lost and found sets of keys and a wallet
Dangerous candles
Blaby District Council building plans
The Christmas lights switch on

The information posted is instant and up to date. So if you have a facebook account, why not join the group, name is "glenwatch" and keep up to date.

The next Glenwatch meeting is Tuesday 9th January 2018 at 7.15pm at Park House Stamford Street – everyone welcome to attend.
