Reading challenge champions

Over the summer holidays Leicestershire libraries were running 'The Animal Agents Summer Reading Challenge'. All children in Leicestershire schools were encouraged to take part in the fun fostering a love of reading. The children had to sign up at the Glenfield library and read six books over the weeks (or more!) collecting special stickers and discovering clues to solve a cryptic puzzle. Kim Wallace, our local Library outreach worker came to take a special assembly in October to announce the winner. Much to the surprise and amazement of all the children The Hall was declared the outright winner for the second year running. The cup was presented to the school by Kim and she complimented the children on their enthusiasm and the large number of children taking part from The Hall. The children were reminded of the importance of using public libraries and the value of reading as life-long skills.
