Internet safety day

Safer Internet Day in February was celebrated at The Hall along with other schools nationally. Our local PCSO, Mr Alex Wood, came into school to lead assemblies with the children. He talked about the importance of being safe and showing respect online. The 'strap line' for this year is, 'Create, Connect, Show Respect, a better internet starts with you!' He also worked with the youngest children in the computer studio supporting their understanding of computing.
The E-Safety committee ran a special competition designing an e-safety school mascot which will be made up in 3D. The chosen mascot was revealed much to the delight of all the children and prizes awarded for the winner. We can't wait to see it and put it on 'show' in the school. We created a connected display where each class wrote a message in the style of a 'tweet' or a 'post' explaining the importance of creating a better internet for everyone. It is essential that we work hard together to keep our children safe and aware of potential dangers. As part of our partnership with parents all families received information about digital resilience helping us to empower our children to be aware of dangers, know what to do to seek help and to learn from experience.
