Young writers

The Key Stage Two children from The Hall were invited to enter the De Montfort Rotary Club Writing competition. The theme of the entries was looking at life from 'Different Perspectives'. Several children wrote interesting and motivating stories and poems. Mrs Foster came along from the De Montfort Rotary Club to present the awards in a special assembly. Abigail and Shayne were chosen as school winners writing poems from the perspective of a cat and a child unable to speak. We were delighted to hear that Jack's poem, written from the perspective of a volcano, was chosen as the club winner. He received a book token and will be invited to attend the District Finals later in June. The Hall encourages all the pupils to write with real purpose and for enjoyment – this opportunity kindly provided by the Rotary Club gives the chance for the children to demonstrate their skills and talents.
